Adult Figure Skating In Ann Arbor

The west side of Detroit supports a large, and growing, number of adult figure skaters. Clubs with an adult presence can be found in Plymouth, Westland, Garden City, Farmington Hills, and Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor alone has two formal adult programs, The University of Michigan Figure Skating Club (for UM students) and The Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club Adult Division, which includes the synchronized skating team, The Debonaires. Ann Arbor also has an informal adult group centered around Veteran's Arena on Ann Arbor's west side.

There are clubs forming, or groups of adult skaters in Jackson and Howell as well. With new rinks proposed for Ypsilanti, Chelsea, and Brighton, there is tremendous potential for the growth of adult figure skating. With the number of competitive adult skaters increasing, we could see the formation of an adult only USFSA member club.

The Ann Arbor FSC offers limited adults only practice ice, as well as instruction and practice for Ice Dance and Precision (synchronized skating). The adult precision team, The Debonaires, is currently recruiting new members (no precision experience necessary) and would love to hear from you.
